Teollisuuden Voima Oyj publishes 2018 Annual Report

​ Electricity production at the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant of Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) totalled 14.1 terawatt hours (billion kilowatt-hours) in 2018, accounting for about 16 percent of electricity consumption in Finland and about 21 percent of electricity generation in Finland. The amount of electricity delivered to the shareholders was 14 886 GWh. The consolidated turnover was EUR 350.3 million.

Olkiluoto 1 and 2 plant units are in safe and good production condition. TVO implemented at the NPP some of the largest modernisation projects in the history of the company and continued the development of safety culture, which is the basis of operation. In September 2018, the Finnish Government granted the plants an operating licence for the next twenty years.

TVO and the companies included in the Plant Supplier Consortium of Olkiluoto 3 EPR (OL3 EPR) signed a comprehensive settlement agreement which entered in force in March 2018. In November 2018, the Plant Supplier updated the schedule for OL3 EPR indicating regular electricity generation to start in January 2020. According to the Plant Supplier, fuel will be loaded in the reactor in June 2019 and the plant unit is to be connected to the national grid for the first time in October 2019.
