PRODUCTION
As much as 30 percent of Finland’s electricity production is concentrated on a single island — here in Olkiluoto, Eurajoki. Our three reactors generate approximately 3,380 MW of electricity for Finland’s national grid around the clock, throughout the year. We have been producing nuclear electricity for the needs of Finnish industry and society for more than 45 years.

Rain or shine, windy or calm, our nuclear power lights homes, powers factories, and keeps electric vehicles moving. Our continuous, weather-independent production both stabilizes electricity prices and improves their predictability.
We are also a key contributor to Finland’s energy self-sufficiency and security of supply. The importance of this role has only become more pronounced in light of the current global political situation.
Safety First
The primary objective of both our operational and maintenance activities is uninterrupted, predictable, and competitive electricity production — while always placing nuclear and operational safety first in decision-making. Costs or schedules must never take priority over safety. We also expect our suppliers and subcontractors to demonstrate the same commitment to an uncompromising safety culture as our own personnel.
Continuous improvement and proactive planning are key principles of our operations. We ensure that all three of our plant units are maintained in excellent condition at all times. The safety features of our plant units have been enhanced in numerous ways throughout their entire operational history.
