Replacement of Olkiluoto 2 Generator Rotor Progressing Well – Return to Electricity Production Ahead of Schedule

The faulty rotor of Olkiluoto 2 (OL2)’s generator has been replaced with a spare rotor located at the Olkiluoto site. The installation work has gone well. According to a new schedule estimate, the unit is expected to resume electricity production on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 6. The previous estimate was May 10.
Electricity production at OL2 will continue at a reduced power level of 735 MW, while the unit's full capacity is 890 MW. The power is being limited to reduce the risk of rotor failure. This power restriction is expected to remain in place until the 2026 annual outage.
The annual outage for Olkiluoto 1 will begin on May 11, and for OL2 on May 25. The annual outage for OL3 was completed on April 29, and it is now producing electricity normally.
