4.9.2023

The Olkiluoto 2 power plant unit (OL2)was synchronized back to the national electricity grid on Monday, September 4th, at 8:06 PM.

A leakage was detected in the water-cooled generator of the Teollisuuden Voima Olkiluoto 2 nuclear power plant unit on Friday, August 18th, leading to the suspension of electricity production at the plant. The production outage lasted for 17 days.

The faulty rotor has now been replaced, and the electricity production of OL2 was able to resume today. The power ramp-up will take approximately 50 hours.

Real-time production capacities of the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant units can be monitored at www.tvo.fi.
