Olkiluoto 3’s electricity production continues after valve maintenance in March
Olkiluoto 3´s electricity production continues on Friday 3 March 2023. Before the startup valve maintenance outage will be performed. Regular electricity production starts at 4 April 2023.
Periodic tests carried out in connection with the startup at the end of last week found a defect in the pressurizer safety valve intended for overpressure protection. One valve did not pass the limit values set for it. OL3 has a total of three similar safety valves. Electricity production will resume after the maintenance of the faulted valve, additional inspections of other safety valves and new tests in March.

A market message is published in NordPool regarding any significant changes. The OL3 EPR plant supplier consortium is constructing the plant unit under a fixed-price turnkey contract. The supplier consortium companies, AREVA GmbH, AREVA NP SAS, and Siemens AG, have joint and several liability for the contractual obligations until the end of the guarantee period of the plant unit.
