Local Defence Exercise Satakunta 2023 can be seen in Olkiluoto next week
The Local Defence Exercise Satakunta 2023 conducted under the leadership of Pori brigade will bring together a large number of regional authorities, the Towns of Pori and Rauma as well as local companies and operators. The total duration of the Local Defence Exercise in the Satakunta region is from 3 to 9 March. Some 880 people will take part in the Exercise.
In Olkiluoto, the Exercise can be primarily seen on Thursday, 9 March, when the theme of the exercise in the power plant area and its surroundings is the protection of an object. Several official vehicles will be driving in Olkiluoto and the near areas during the Exercise. The Exercise will not affect operations at the nuclear power plant and no action is required from the public.
- TVO is an important operator in terms of Finland's security of supply, which for its part makes such an exercise together with the Defence Forces relevant and significant. We have a long background in systematic cooperation in exercises, which has benefited both parties, says Juho Marila, TVO's Corporate Security Manager.
Satakunta 23 is one of the six Local Defence Exercises headed by the Finnish Army and organised twice a year in different parts of Finland.
