Teollisuuden Voima (TVO) contributes to the maintenance of sustainable development and the well-being of Finnish people by providing its shareholders with cost price electricity generated in a safe, economical, and climate-friendly manner at the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant. In 2014 the Olkiluoto nuclear power plant produced 14.76 terawatt-hours of electricity, which accounted for 23 percent of all electricity generated in Finland and 18 percent of all electricity consumed in Finland.

TVO's social responsibility and environmental reports for 2014 are published as parts of TVO's Annual Report. The Social Responsibility 2014 report adheres to the international Global Reporting Initiative guidelines, and the Environmental Report 2014 is an annual review prepared in accordance with the EMAS decree. The reports have been confirmed and verified by a third party. They are available for viewing and printing in TVO's online Annual Report at http://annualreport2014.tvo.fi/.

Thanks to modernizations implemented in accordance with the principle of continuous improvement and the personnel's long-term competence development efforts, the power plant is in excellent condition, technically as well as production-wise. In 2014 the power plant achieved the best ever production volume in its history for the second year in a row.

- For years, TVO has engaged in long-term, multidisciplinary work to promote overall development in the nuclear power industry and to guarantee its continuity. The Olkiluoto site has been developed taking into account the requirements of the future production increase. The development of a sustainable waste management concept has also required an enormous amount of work and investments. The achievement is the most extensive and advanced final disposal solution for spent nuclear fuel in the world, says Jarmo Tanhua, President and CEO of TVO.

Through its direct owners, TVO's nuclear electricity brings well-being to 134 Finnish municipalities. These municipalities are shareholders in more than 50 energy companies that serve as a route for distributing electricity from Olkiluoto across the whole of Finland.
