OL1 plant unit disconnected from national grid – OL2 to be reconnected to grid tomorrow

The Olkiluoto 1 plant unit (OL1) was disconnected from the national grid due to a grid disturbance.
Earlier on the same day, the Olkiluoto 2 plant unit went offline due to the fire of a current transformer at the switchyard. OL2 is to be synchronised back to the grid on Thursday, 19 July, at 20:00 o’clock. The plant unit is estimated to reach the full power level by the end of the week.
The safety systems have operated according to plans at both plant units and the events do not have any effect on nuclear safety.
