Proper training required from everybody on the site

Every person entering the OL3 construction site has to undergo site entry training. This is provided in Finnish and English, and interpretation into other languages is organized as necessary. The training involves access protocols, safety procedures, radiation and environmental matters, and occupational safety and health matters.

Besides the site entry training, employees must have valid training for the work they will be doing. For example, hot work requires a valid Hot Work Card and everyone working at Olkiluoto must have a valid Occupational Safety Card, which is a national procedure aimed at improving workplace safety.

Operating personnel for OL3 has been recruited and their training is ongoing. It has been an advantage for them to be able to participate already in the construction and commissioning phases of the new unit.
