Quality Management

TVO's commitment to a high level of safety and quality applies also in all stages of the OL3 project. Both the construction project and the power plant unit itself fulfil all the requirements of Finnish legislation and official regulations. OL3 also fulfils the criteria specified in TVO's targets and in the safety and quality recommendations of the IAEA.

The OL3 Project is committed to the prevention of risks and to continuous improvement. Auditing of the quality management system is one demonstration of this: STUK)and an external accredited certification body, Det Norske Veritas (DNV), continuously inspect and supervise the execution of the quality-related issues in the project

In addition to regular audits, an extensive certification audit under the international ISO 9001 quality standard is carried out every three years. This includes the assessment of the occupational safety and health system in the project according to the OHSAS 18001 standard.

In the assessment conducted in June 2007, the OL3 project scored the highest mark (5 on a scale of 1-5) in the DNV classification.
