One important component of TVO Corporate Social Responsibility is to produce electricity for shareholders and thereby for society safely and competitively while preserving the environment. TVO shareholders are Finnish energy companies and industrial companies which are major consumers of electricity.

Electricity produced at a competitive price in Finland keeps society moving, and this movement translates into employment and wellbeing. TVO operations principally consist of electricity production at the OL1 and OL2 units, which are maintained in a condition good as new, and also construction of new capacity to meet future electricity demand.
