Standard & Poor's placed TVO's credit rating 'BB+' on CreditWatch Negative

​ On 17 October 2017, Standard & Poor's Rating Services (S&P) placed its long-term corporate credit rating 'BB+' on Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) on CreditWatch with negative implications.

​According to S&P, the CreditWatch placement reflects the risk that TVO’s financial flexibility could diminish as a result of additional delays or weaker counterparties in the Olkiluoto 3 EPR project (AREVA SA faces higher risk of a liquidity squeeze; one of TVO’s key shareholders Fortum Oyj’s credit quality is under pressure) that could further increase TVO’s high financial leverage.
