​TVO reorganises for the needs of three plant units

​Teollisuuden Voima Oyj (TVO) is reforming its organisation as of 1 August 2017. The objective of the reorganisation is to strengthen the company's capabilities in executing its strategy in the changing operating environment as the operational phase of the OL3 EPR plant approaches.

- The new organisation is particularly designed to ensure that we are ready for the operation of the Olkiluoto 3 plant unit as well as for the safety and systematic development of the plant units currently in operation. It will also enable us to reap greater benefits from the existing synergies between our support functions, explains Jarmo Tanhua, President and CEO.

From the current members of the TVO Management Group, Marjo Mustonen has been appointed Senior Vice President, Electricity Production. She has long experience in the management of safety and security issues and has acted as the Director responsible for the construction of the OL3 nuclear power plant unit. After nine years of experience in the position of Production Director, Mikko Kosonen has been appointed Senior Vice President, Safety. In addition to the responsibility for legal affairs of the Group, Risto Siilos is in charge of the Legal Affairs and Procurement function and acts as Secretary to the Board of Directors and Deputy to the President and CEO. In the new organisation, Anja Ussa, Senior Vice President, Finance, will also be in charge of IT, Business Development and Support Services.

The Management Group will have two new members, Pekka Frantti and Jaana Isotalo. Pekka Frantti acts as Director responsible for ensuring the financial interests and conditions of OL3. Jaana Isotalo has been appointed Senior Vice President, HR and she will be in charge of HR, training, communications, and development of work community culture.

Members of the Management Group continuing in their current positions include Jouni Silvennoinen, OL3 Project Director, Sami Jakonen, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Expert Services, and Lauri Piekkari, Senior Vice President, Treasury and Risk Management. Anna Lehtiranta continues as Senior Vice President responsible for the Corporate Relations of TVO Group.

The organizational changes will be effective as of 1 August, 2017. Preparations for the upcoming operational phase of the new plant unit include also the recruitment of dozens of new experts and employees.

Pekka Frantti
Director, OL3 Commercial Completion

Born in 1964. Master of Science (Eng.) from Tampere University of Technology. Previously worked as business management consultant and Managing Director of GS-Hydro. He has also held positions in various management positions in YIT and ABB, both in Finland and abroad.

Jaana Isotalo
Director, HR, Communications and Culture

Born in 1977. Master of Science (Econ.) from the University of Turku. Her previous positions include e.g. Head of HR in TVO Group, HR Manager in Posiva, Training Specialist for IAEA and Training Manager in TVO.
